Butterfly Sonata

I did this layout for a challenge on Made With Love in March, which required us to alter raw chipboards in various ways. I was a little apprehensive about entering the challenge initially as I'm not used to altering chipboards in ways other than painting them or pasting patterned paper over them. But I decided to give it a shot in the end, and I'm glad I did! Turns out that I not only won the challenge, but the layout was also featured on the Maya Road Design Team blog! I was super thrilled of course to find out the good news, and this remains one of my favourite layouts to date. Here are some close-ups of the various chipboard shapes altered in the layout.

Footnote: I was at Made With Love today and there was a couple who was actually asking them for the materials I used to create the butterflies! Felt so happy that the layout has actually inspired them to try altering the chipboards themselves!
