Zva Creative August DT Blog Hop!

The Zva Designers are joining together today to share a project that we have created using some of our favourite Zva Creative products. I am hoping that you will take some time to join us for a little bit of fun again this month!

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog: Paper Hugs. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on 5 of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package ...YAY! Those blogs will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts now and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, August 31st and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, September 1st on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Kim Hughes‘s blog as well (linked above). We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday ...plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post ...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

For today's hop, I've created a layout using LOTS of very pretty Zva Creative flowers and pearls.

I chose a black cardstock and black and white patterned papers so the lovely pink and purple flowers and pink pearl flourishes will really stand out. And I love that 7Gypsies' black and white Paddington Collection papers have their front and back in reverse colours - it makes for such a wonderful co-ordination of patterned papers.

I used a matching lilac-coloured cardstock to mount the photos onto, and trimmed the edges with my Martha Stewart Crafts punches. I then added a pretty pink lace trim to complete the layout.

The title is stamped onto a piece of cardstock and then adhered to the layout with pop-up dots for added dimension.

Here are a couple more close-ups:

Inspire

Aren't the papers from 7Gypsies' new Conservatory Collection lovely? I recently got myself some of these and was inspired to create this layout, hence the title. :) I love this photo of my younger DD caught unawares at a recent concert, her entire focus on what's happening on stage.

The somewhat vintage look of the papers lend themselves perfectly to tearing and distressing, which was what I decided to do here.

I then hand cut the flowers from the Flora paper and the birdcage from the Magpie paper, and stuck them on with some pop-up dots for dimension. For added definition and texture, I also applied some distress stickles to the birdcage.

Some lace peeking out from under the tears, and some lovely red vines and flowers from Prima complete the layout.

And Prima's new butterfly embellishments are a perfect match for these papers too!

Peaceful Moments

I used K and Company's gorgeous Serendipity papers for this layout. I just love the bright cheerful colours of these papers, and the flowers just screamed at me to be cut out!

I then embellished the layout with laces, pearls from Zva Creative, and more K and Company embellishments.

This flower is made from Webster's Pages' Bloomers trim and Silhouettes cameo. I stuck a little 3-D butterfly on it to make it look like a butterfly landed on it. :)

Family - 7Gypsies Artist Printers Tray

I did this as a present for my MIL, for her birthday.

I used 7Gypsies' Artist Printers Tray, and patterned papers from Basic Grey's Porcelain Collection - one of my fave collections from BG. And also, it matches the pinks and greens in the photos perfectly.

I interspersed our family photos with little ATC-sized layouts using cut-outs from the BG papers, popped up with 3D dots and embellished with pearls, blings, flowers and laces.

Here are some close-ups of the individual ATC-sized layouts.

And a closer look at the completed tray from different angles.

Birthday Invites

Yesterday was my MIL's 70th birthday. She celebrated it with a big birthday dinner for her family and close friends. And moi was charged with creating the invitation cards, among other things. Given that I had to handmake all the cards, this was what I came up with, using up some of my Prima stash of flowers and blings.

I chose a red cardstock as red is an auspicious colour to the Chinese - can't go wrong there. And I offset this with black and cream patterned paper from DCWV's La Creme Paper Stack, which I trimmed with a border punch, for some added design. Add a flower and some bling and there you have it.

Each card is slightly different from the rest, so they're all one-of-a-kind.

Materials used:
Patterned Paper - DCWV - La Creme Paper Stack
Cardstock - American Crafts Cardstock - Rouge
Flowers - Prima
Crystal Flourishes - Prima Say It In Crystals
Border Punches - Martha Stewart Crafts Edge Punch - Arch Lattice, Doily Lace

Capture The Moment

I took this photo of my older DD engaging in one of her newfound hobbies - photography. And naturally, I used the perfect papers to scrap it with - Bo Bunny's Mama-razzi Collection.

I love the vintage and distressed look of these papers, and decided to give the layout an even more distressed look with some additional tearing and inking.

I then tucked these lovely flowers from Zva Creative behind the little rolled up corners I had created in the layout.

And decorated the camera on the Mama-razzi paper with a pretty Zva Creative pearl flourish.

The layout is completed with ribbons stretched across the top and bottom, and some lace tucked behind the flowers and rolled corner and anchored by a metal sign from Making Memories.
