Be

Here's a layout I created using Pink Paislee's Daily Junque papers and a mix of their Daily Junque and Butterfly Garden embellishments.

I used some muslin cloth as a base for some texture, and then layered some distressed patterned papers over this.

I then cut out the "tickets" from the Daily Junque Tickets paper and arranged them around the photo using pop-up dots.

Add in some pretty flowers and lace from Prima, butterflies and other die-cuts from the Butterfly Garden collection, and pearls, and it makes for a layout with texture and dimension. :)

The alphas were first sprayed with Tattered Angels' Olive Vine glimmer mist. It wasn't quite the shade that I wanted, so I applied a thin layer of Tim Holtz's Distress Crackle Paint in Scattered Straw over this. After this is dried, I used a sanding block to scrape off the crackled part of the paint, leaving only the bottom, non-crackled part on the alphas. I then sprayed another layer of glimmer mist in Iridescent Gold over this, and voila! Quite a roundabout way but it's just the shade I wanted without having to buy more materials. :)

Take Flight

I was playing around with some photo effects and I love how this particular shot turned out. The colours matched the papers from Pink Paislee's Butterfly Garden perfectly!

I used lots of pop-up dots on this layout, for lots of dimension.

I layered the butterflies and turned up their wings to give the illusion of flight.

I also wanted to add some textures, so I used pearl strands, ribbons, and crystals on the layout. And I love how the wood alphas and bird cage add both dimension and texture. I also used Tattered Angels' glimmer mist in Iridescent Gold on the butterflies, leaves, and wood die-cuts, to give them added shimmer.

Thanks for dropping by! :)

Friendship Swap Doilies

Here's the doily I made for the Swap.

I first sprayed the doily with Tattered Angels' Honey Dew Mist glimmer mist. I wanted a very light mist so that the embellishments can stand out against the background. And I used TA's Tattered Traveler mask, as the round shape of the compass is just nice for the doily! :)

I then used some Olive Vine mist for the chipboard words, and applied Tim Holtz's Distress Crackle Paint in Tattered Rose to alter the chipboard frame.

I put these together and placed it on top of a journaling label which I had adhered to the left of the doily.

I then layered a couple of flowers onto Prima's new Rose Trim lace. I had sprayed the white Innoscence flower with Pink Bubblegum mist to suit the colour scheme of the other embellishments.

I placed this floral stack on one corner of the frame, and adhered a strip of lace just above the chipboard word.

I then proceeded to decorate the doily with more flowers and leaves. The white Athena flower and the leaves have also been sprayed, with TA's Irridescent Gold mist, for a bit of shimmer.

Add the little Hambly birdcage and a die-cut butterfly (also sprayed with Iridescent Gold mist), and your doily is done! I used leftover scraps to punch out the butterflies, so no wastage there. :)

Here are more views of the doily ....

Doilies Sneak Peek

I'm participating in another Friendship Swap and this time, we have to create on paper doilies - 12 pieces in all for me. The doilies must feature flowers (of any kind), and misting, so here's a sneak peek of what I've created.

Can't wait to see what the others have come up with! :)

Seize The Day

I recently bought the new Lily Bee This & That collection pack and this was what I came up with. I love the colours in this collection!

I cut and distressed strips from the various patterned papers in the pack and layered them to form a base for the photo.

I then used my Martha Stewart craft punch to create the pretty butterflies from the papers.

I also did a little mini collage which I placed at the top left of the layout, for balance.

Thanks so much for dropping by! :)
