Joy

This is my DT layout for My Creative Sketches' December sketch challenge. The sketch is a beautiful one by Kim Keane, and I had fun playing with it, using papers from My Mind's Eye's All Is Bright collection.

I love the cheerful colours of the papers, and found flowers from Prima Marketing and Farm House Paper Company to match the blue and reds perfectly!

Here are some close-ups.

So do hop on over to the MCS blog for a look at the fabulous prize for this month, and for the lovely sketch!

Thanks so much for dropping by! :)

Megan

So this is another project I did at Anna Dabrowska-Peckoka's workshop last month, and I have to say it's one of my favourite projects. It's a mixed media canvas which involved lots of layering of fabrics, chipboard pieces and metal findings, and to which we then applied mists, paints and gesso. The result is a beautifully textured piece, with a gradient of colours that moved from dark to light.

While Anna guided us on the techniques, we were given free reign to create our projects in our own individual styles, and each of us came away with a very personalised piece of canvas. I added some of my own findings and laces to mine, and applied mists and paints in various shades of blue, with a tinge of yellow and gold for some highlights. And this is the result.
