Journey Back In Time

Here's my DT layout for My Creative Sketches' October Sketch - another lovely one by Liz Chidester.

The photo in the layout was taken during our visit to Sovereign Hill, Ballarat last December, "Australia’s foremost outdoor museum which re-creates the first ten years after the discovery of gold in 1851, when thousands of international adventurers rushed to the Australian goldfields in search of fortune". It was literally like stepping back in time, hence the title of the layout, and the 'clocks' theme.

I also distressed the papers and used embellishments that help to give the layout an "old world" feel.

Here are some close-ups.

Now, head on over to the MCS blog for more great inspiration, and also check out the gorgeous prize that's been put up for grabs this month! Looking forward to seeing all your lovely layouts!

Remember

I created this layout using papers from Prima's Time Traveler's Memories collection, with embellishments from Prima, Tim Holtz Idea-ology, and KaiserCraft.

I wanted to create a very 3-dimensional layout, with lots of layering, so I added strips of corrugated cardboard, and used 3D foam dots for a pop-up effect.

I also added wood and metal embellishments as well as some laces, and distressed the paper edges for added textures.

Some close-ups ...

Thank you so much for taking the time to drop by! :)
