Christmas Joy

It's the last reveal for 2016 at My Creative Sketches, and I decided to do a Christmas layout of course for this month of December! The sketch is this lovely one below.

I used papers from Basic Grey's Jovial collection, and embellished my layout with flowers, wood embellishments, layered stickers, cheesecloth and corrugated cardboard, all to give the layout lots of texture.

I also used 3D foam dots to add depth to the layout, and handcut the flowers from the patterned papers to add to the little floral clusters.

Here are some close-ups.

I sprayed the butterflies and white leaves with some glimmer mist for a tinge of colour and shimmer, and also added stickles to the butterflies for some glitter.

Now, hop on over to the MCS blog for more inspiration, and also check out the awesome prize that's been put together for this month's winner! Looking forward to seeing all your lovely entries!

Always Beautiful

This month's sketch at My Creative Sketches is by Kristine Davidson for Creative Scrappers.

I love the grid design of the sketch, and decided to tear out little "windows" for the photos.

I used patterned papers from Graphic 45 and the cardstock is from Core'dinations, as I thought it lent itself nicely to being torn, with its dual colour tones. The "windows" are then embellished with flowers and vines from Prima Marketing.

Here are some close-ups.

So, hop on over to the MCS blog for more great inspiration, and check out the lovely prize that has been put together for this month's winner!

Remember This Moment

Check out the lovely sketch at My Creative Sketches this month, by Christine Meyer.

I used papers from Glitz Design for my DT layout (found among my stash), and did lots of layering with the various embellishments comprising wood, metal and flowers.

I also double-mounted the photo with cardstock as well as patterned paper from DCWV, and punched the top and bottom edges of the patterned paper with Martha Stewart Crafts' 'Pansy' edge punch. I then further trimmed the bottom edge of the paper with some lace.

Here are some close-ups. I added some dew drops to the layout to give it some added texture and dimension.

Travel Adventure

September's sketch at My Creative Sketches is another lovely one by Liz Chidester.

For my DT layout, I chose to scrap more photos from my daughter's literature trip to the United Kingdom with her school, using a mix of papers from Graphic 45 and S.E.I. I like that the S.E.I. paper, from their Moravia colletion, has felt bits which lend the layout some texture.

In fact, this layout is really a combination of the various product brands I have in my stash, and I'm happy to see how they work so well together!

Here are the close-ups.
