The photos are layered using 3D foam dots of different thickness, to add dimension to the layout.

Dare

Time for another reveal at My Creative Sketches, and here's another lovely sketch by Liz Chidester.

I used papers from Graphic 45's Botanical Tea collection (so pretty!), and a combination of flowers from Prima Marketing and 49 And Market, one of my current favourites as far as floral embellishments go.

I also handcut the flowers from the patterned papers, and added these to the floral clusters, using 3D foam dots to give them depth and dimension.

I then used Prima resins to further embellish the layout, and also tore and distressed the top and bottom borders of the layout to give it some definition.

Here are some close-ups.

For added texture, I also used a Prima mask and applied some modeling paste to the top and bottom of the layout behind the torn edges, and added some paper doilies in between the two pieces of paper, to add to the layers.

Bath

It's time for another reveal at My Creative Sketches, and here is my DT layout for this month, inspired by this lovely sketch below by Liz Chidester.

I chose to do another layout using photos from my daughter's school literature trip to the United Kingdom last June. These were taken in the city of Bath, and I just love the shot of the colourful suspended umbrellas, and of course of the girls' happy faces.

I used a mix of papers from Webster's Pages and K and Company for the layout, and used corrugated cardboards for the little squares behind the photos, applying gesso to them and then spraying them with glimmer mists to match the colours reflected in the flowers and the papers. I then also inked the edges of the corrugated cardboards, photos and papers with distress ink in Dusty Concord.

Here are a couple of close-ups.

Sweet 16

Another month and another reveal at My Creative Sketches, and here is this month's lovely sketch.

For my layout, I used papers from Prima's Tea-Thyme Collection. The photo is of my younger DD who recently celebrated her sweet 16th. She's been an avid reader since she was tiny, and I felt this photo captures the essence of my little bookworm so perfectly! Not so little anymore at 16, but still a bookworm nonetheless!

I inked and water-distressed the papers for definition and texture, and then added floral and metal embellishments to the layout. I also added bits of twine, cheesecloth, and a paper doily for additional textures.

Here are some close-ups.
