September Zva Blog Hop Winners Announced

We'd like to congratulate the five September Zva Blog Hop winners! Their names will be found on the following blogs:

Kim Hughes
Julianne McKenna-De Lumen
Wendy McKee
Benedicte Raphalen
Lisa Johnson

One winner from each of the 5 blogs will receive a Zva prize package worth $30.00. Congrats winners!

And for everyone who played along and left a comment on my blog, a BIG THANK YOU. I did read each and every one of your comments, and really and truly do appreciate them.

Once Upon A Time

Here's a new layout I did for Zva Creative.

I wanted to combine different textures for this layout, so I mounted the photo on Creative Imaginations' Banana Leaf paper, and applied two different types of crackle paints to the chipboard pieces on the layout - Scattered Straw Distress Crackle Paint on the circular chipboard pieces, and Clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint on the stamp-shaped chipboard piece. You will notice that the effects produced from these two types of crackle paints are actually quite different.

I pasted the title sticker in the centre of the stamp-shaped chipboard, and decorated the circular ones with these pretty flowers from Zva Creative.

I also added some lace to the sides of the patterned paper, and to complete the layout, I added a couple of glittered 3D butterflies and some gorgeous Zva Creative pearl flourishes.

Thanks for dropping by!

Zva Creative September DT Blog Hop!

The Zva Designers are joining together again today to share a project that we have created using some of our favorite Zva Creative products. I am hoping that you will take some time to join us for a little bit of fun again this month!

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog: Paper Hugs . She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on 5 of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package ... YAY! Those blogs will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts now and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, September 28th and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, September 29th on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Kim Hughes‘s blog as well (linked above). We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday ... plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post ... you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

For today's project, I created this layout using Zva Creative's new range of crystals and flowers. Aren't they just gorgeous?! I just love, love, love these new products from Zva!

The layout is titled 'What Dreams May Come', and to begin, I would say this layout is about layers, textures and details.

Firtsly, I used lots of pop-up dots for dimension, with the photo actually being propped on a double layer of pop-up dots.

Then, for some texture, I used netting behind the mounted photo instead of the usual patterned paper.

And for some detailing and even more textures, I played with my paper punches ...

... and then added some laces to the bottom of the photo.

I then embellished the layout with some floral cut-outs, and these beautiful flowers and crystals from Zva Creative.

So, the blog hop begins here: Kim Hughes' blog - Paper Hugs

Remembering

Here's another all-Prima layout I recently completed, using papers from their Fairy Flora collection. Gotta love those Primas!

I tore out a double frame in the background papers, through which I placed my photo, and embellished the area surrounding the frames with flowers and vines from Prima as well.

I "anchored" the flowers with a pretty Prima lace ribbon next to the title.

I then pleated the top left corner of the background paper and placed a decorative pebble at the centre of the pleated fold.

I also played around with my edge punches for this layout, punching out the top right corner as well as the bottom edge of the background paper. I like how that turned out. :)

Thanks so much for dropping by!

Live

Here's an all-Prima layout which I recently completed, using papers from their Annalee Collection.

For texture, I decided to add some lace, and complement the layout with felt die-cuts, also from Prima Marketing. I just love their new Felt Gates with their intricate designs.

I placed a Prima De Vines Felt Stem on the right of the layout, to balance off the Felt Gate on the left. They go so beautifully together, don't you think?

And of course, what Prima layout would be complete without their gorgeous flowers, and some pretty butterflies?

Thanks for stopping by!

Enjoy Life

Aren't these papers from Graphic 45's Steampunk Debutante collection lovely? I love how the roses from the Fantasy Floral paper can be cut out and re-arranged on a layout. This photo is of my two DDs with their cousin who was in town with her mum for a visit recently.

I used my Martha Stewart Pansy punches to punch around the Steampunk Debutante paper. I then cut a frame for the photo using the Ephemera Extraordinaire paper and further mounted both the photo and this frame onto the back of the Fantasy Floral paper. For even more added dimension, the photo is pasted onto the frame using pop-up dots.

For a touch of interesting detail, I folded the edges of the paper on the top right of the photo and held them down with a pretty pearl brad from Zva Creative.

I then hand-cut the roses from the Fantasy Floral paper and used pop-up dots for these too.

Add some lace, and some gorgeous pearl flourishes from Zva Creative, and you have a pretty layout before you. What I love about the Zva flourishes is their versatility - you can cut them up to suit how you want to place them on your layout!

Perfect

I love the new Lost & Found Collection from My Mind's Eye! It's vintage with a touch of sparkle and is just gorgeous! Here's a layout I did using some of these papers, embellished with some flowers and blings from Zva Creative.

I distressed and inked the edges of the papers and used pop-up dots for the photo, journaling and title, for some added dimension.

I then added a strip of lace below the photo, and, together with a couple of white flowers, some pretty light blue roses for just a little bit of contrast from the red, white and black of the papers.

And aren't these black blings from Zva just plain gorgeous?
