Wonderland

Time for another reveal at My Creative Sketches, with another lovely sketch by Liz Chidester.

My older DD recently attended her Secondary 4 Graduation Prom, which had Alice In Wonderland as its theme. Granted, the girls were not exactly dressed in traditional Alice In Wonderland outfits, but still, given the theme, I thought, what better papers to use for this layout than KaiserCraft's 'The Looking Glass' collection? I love the designs and colours of these papers!

Some close-ups ... I applied stickles to the hand-cut flowers for some added sparkle, and layered them to give added dimension. I then complemented these with some Prima and KaiserCraft flowers, to which I had also applied stickles.

Thanks so much for dropping by, and don't forget to hop on over to the MCS blog to check out the fabulous prize for this month, as well as for more inspiration! Looking forward to seeing all your lovely layouts!

Destination: Unknown

It's reveal day at My Creative Sketches, and here's this week's lovely sketch by the talented Liz Chidester.

For my DT layout, I used papers from Authentique Paper, and embellished them with Prima flowers.

The photos are of my younger DD and some of her close friends, taken at their Primary 6 graduation dinner. Some of them may be going to different schools next year, each pursuing their different dreams, hence the title and theme for the layout - 'Destination: Unknown'.

I did lots of layering using 3D foam dots, and played with my various punches and die, and I have to say I like how this layout turned out.

Here are some close-ups.

The Witching Hour

I used Graphic 45's Steampunk Spells collection for this layout, which is of my girls and their friends at last year's Halloween celebrations.

I did lots of layering and added different textures to the layout, to make it "pop" and give it some dimension.

Here are some close-ups. The spider's web was hand cut from black cardstock, and I also added some muslin to the layout for some cobweb-like effects.

Thanks so much for dropping by, and a Happy Halloween to one and all!

Taiwan

It's time for yet another reveal at My Creative Sketches and this month's sketch challenge is extra special! In honour of My Creative Scrapbook's birthday, its lovely owner Pam Rangel has put together not only one, but two gorgeous prize packs! And we also have an extra special sketch ... a two-page sketch!

This allows for multiple photos, which is great for a travel layout, so I decided to use photos from my DD's school trip to Taiwan from a year ago (yes, a long overdue project!).

I used Graphic 45's Bird Song collection, as I thought its oriental theme was oh, so suitable for a Taiwan layout.

I love the little lanterns, which I hand-cut and then layered for a 3-dimensional effect.

I also used pop-up foam dots for the main photo, title, journal strips and other embellishments, and punched and distressed some of the edges of the papers and cardstocks, so as to give the layout some texture and dimension.

Thanks so much for dropping by, and don't forget to hop on over to the MCS blog for more inspiration, and a look at the amazing prize packs up for grabs!

Special Memories

It's time for yet another reveal at My Creative Sketches and this month's sketch is a really fun one by Liz Chidester.

I found among my paper stash these lovely papers from My Mind's Eye's Lost and Found collection, and thought they were perfect for the photo I had wanted to use for my DT layout, which I created in a mirror image of the sketch design.

For the chipboard title, I inked it with Iced Spruce distress ink, and then sprayed it over with some glimmer mist in Iridescent Gold, to give it a very light shimmer.

Here are more close-ups of the layout.

Now head on over to the MCS blog for more inspiration, and also to check out the awesome prize that's been put together for this month, and take up the challenge! Can't wait to see all your layouts!
