Joyeux Noel

The final reveal for 2015 at My Creative Sketches sees our DT layouts inspired by this lovely sketch by Liz Chidester.

For my layout, I used papers from Graphic 45's The Twelve Days Of Christmas collection, which I again water-distressed for added texture. The photos, of my girls and my mum-in-law, were taken some years ago during our trip to Tokyo Disney.

I applied distressed ink onto parts of the background paper using a mask, and then embellished the layout with flowers and brads from Prima Marketing, as well as some lovely pearl strands from my stash.

Here are some close-up shots.

Now hop on over to the MCS blog for more DT inspiration, and also check out the wonderful prize that's been put together for the lucky winner this month.

Memories

It's reveal day at My Creative Sketches, and here is my DT layout inspired by this month's lovely sketch below.

I used a mix of papers from Prima Marketing, Kaisercraft and My Mind's Eye - isn't it great that they can be combined so wonderfully together? The floral clusters are also a mix of flowers from Prima Marketing and Petaloo, so as you can probably tell, this layout is all about combining the various collections from the different brands.

The photos were from our Cambodia trip last year, where we visited the amazing temple ruins of Siem Reap, some like Ta Prohm overgrown with trees that soar skywards.

I water-distressed the papers, giving the layout some added texture, and inked the edges with distress ink for definition. The layout is then given added dimension by using pop-up foam dots for the photos and texts.

Here are some close-ups.

Now hop on over to the MCS blog for more inspiration, and at the same time check out the awesome prize that's been put together for this month's lucky winner.

Follow Your Art

It's time for another reveal at My Creative Sketches, and here's this month's lovely sketch.

Using pieces of corrugated cardboard and papers from BoBunny and Prima Marketing, together with some floral vines also from Prima Marketing, I created this layout of my older DD, with photos taken during her recent trip to San Francisco and Los Angeles for an Animation and 3D Arts masterclass, hence the title.

I used my Martha Stewart Floral Vine Edge Punch on one of the edges ...

The photos were from our visit to the magnificent temples of Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Cambodia, last December. We had trekked there in the darkness at 5am to watch the beautiful sunrise, and it was well worth the effort!
