The Flat Swap - Sneak Peek

So, I'm doing another Friendship Swap. This time around, we have to work on a set of coasters, but the trick is to keep them totally flat - no patterned papers or embellishments, no stickers, no rub-ons - totally as flat as they came. That was a great challenge for me, since anyone who's familiar with my style would know my projects are usually as dimensional and bulky as they come, lol! Here are a couple of sneak peeks at what I came up with.

And stay tuned for the final product!

Remember This

Playing with Basic Grey's new Picadilly collection. I mixed it here with their Origins collection embellishments as the colours are so complementary.

I added in a clock face from Dusty Attic which I inked with a mix of distress inks to give it varying colours, and the flowers are a mix of Prima and Petaloo floral embellishments.

Thanks so much for dropping by, and I do always appreciate your comments! :)

Little Moments

One of the rare photos I took with my girls as I'm usually the one behind the camera! This photo was taken last Christmas Day in Australia, up the beautiful Blue Mountains.

I used My Mind's Eye's Lost & Found 2 papers and journal tags for the layout, embellished with Prima flowers and blings, and Dusty Attic die-cut chipboards.

I coated the DA chipboards with Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint for some texture, and then brushed some Black Soot Distress Ink over them for a darker shade.

I then pleated the lace at the bottom of the photo to give it added volume, and did lots of layering with the flowers and tags using 3D foam dots for greater dimension. I also added foam dots to the framed photo, to let it stand out.

Some close-ups ...

After I had completed the card, I decided to make a matching envelope to go with it. :)

The Peaceful Heart

Playing with my new Dusty Attic acquisitions! :) I used Webster's Pages' Country Estate papers for this layout, of my two girls playing with the kangaroos and wallabies during our trip to Sydney last December. I used minimal embellishments for the layout, as I wanted the photos and the title to stand out, as well as the lovely designs of the WP papers!

And because I used so little embellies, I created some added dimension by using 3D foam dots to raise the photos and the cutouts ...

... and texture with some netting placed behind the die-cut paper.

I also applied some distress stickles to the chipboard pieces. (I just love the wordings in the title!)

Thanks for dropping by! :)

How Time Flies

I decided to do a "through the years" kind of layout for my younger DD now that she's a decade old. I did a similar layout for my older DD when she was 10, so I thought it's only fair I did one for my younger one as well!

And I finally got my hands on some products from Dusty Attic through our LSS - happiness! :)

I used the huge clock face for this layout, and applied distress stickles to it for added texture.

And I used papers from Bo Bunny's Timepiece collection, which I think is perfect for the theme of the layout, and it also goes perfectly well with the DA clock face!

Thanks for dropping by! :)
