Life Is Beautiful

This is the first of three layouts I created for my Pretty In Pink class which ran in August and September at Made With Love, and which used Glitz Design's Pretty In Pink and French Kiss collections.

I love this photo of my daughter enjoying herself at a very English-style tea lounge, and I thought these papers and embellishments suited the photo so well, as do the title.

I did a raised shadowbox-like frame using the Fleur paper from the French Kiss collection, and embellished it with pearls for a very ladylike look. And don't you just love those paper layers from Glitz? So convenient to use!

Thanks so much for dropping by! :)

Mel At Eleven

Just finished this layout of my younger DD today. She's growing so fast that I just wanted to take a moment to capture her as she is at this point in time. And I found the perfect papers in Graphic 45's A Ladies' Diary collection - I love all the flowers and the clocks. :)

Lots of fussy cuts, and lots of layering for a very 3D effect.

Some close-ups.

Thanks so much for dropping by! :)

Free

Here's my September DT layout for My Creative Sketches. This month's sketch by Kim Keane is a wonderfully fun one, and although meant for multi-photo layouts, I decided to do a single photo one instead, substituting the remaining photos with embellishments and cut-outs.

I used papers from Webster's Pages' Everyday Poetry and Sunday Picnic collections for this layout, and played with my Martha Stewart punches.

I also did some layering of the fussy cuts and embellishments for added depth and a 3D effect.

There's a great prize to be won as usual, so do hop on over to My Creative Sketches for all the details, and of course the amazing sketch.

Thanks so much for dropping by! :)

Best Trip Ever!

My Creative Sketches' August sketch is a beautiful one by Kim Keane. Here's my take on it.

I decided to give a little twist to this sketch by adding in a punched out frame for the photo. I also used corrugated cardboards for the top left and bottom right square pieces (lightly inked, stickled, and distressed), and added little flowers peeking out from behind the inner frame of the layout.

As usual, there is a great prize to be won, so head on over to the My Creative Sketches blog for the fabulous sketch, and the contest details!

Little Nonyas

My younger DD recently performed with her school choir at the school's Peranakan Night fund-raising dinner, and they had to dress in the traditional Peranakan outfits for the performance. Here's a photo I took of her with a couple of her choir mates in their colourful outfits.

I used papers from Prima's Tea-Thyme collection, as I thought the pink flowers and green leaves of the papers matched the girls' floral outfits perfectly.

I also did lots of layering for this layout, to create depth and dimension.
