Special Memories

It's time for yet another reveal at My Creative Sketches and this month's sketch is a really fun one by Liz Chidester.

I found among my paper stash these lovely papers from My Mind's Eye's Lost and Found collection, and thought they were perfect for the photo I had wanted to use for my DT layout, which I created in a mirror image of the sketch design.

For the chipboard title, I inked it with Iced Spruce distress ink, and then sprayed it over with some glimmer mist in Iridescent Gold, to give it a very light shimmer.

Here are more close-ups of the layout.

Love Life

A layout of my older DD using KaiserCraft's True Romance collection - I love the soft, pastel colours and pretty roses! Plus, their Collectables are just the most convenient way to embellish a layout with! Here, I just layered them using pop-up dots of varying thickness to give the layout a three-dimensional look.

And to add to the soft, feminine nature of the layout, I also added some muslin, laces and pearl strands.

The photo was taken on her sweet sixteenth birthday this year.

Our Story

Time for another reveal at My Creative Sketches! This month's sketch is yet another beautiful one, and for my DT project, I've created this layout of our family using KaiserCraft's Miss Empire Collection. Here's a look at the sketch.

I've flipped my layout to a mirror image of the sketch. I wanted lots of texture and dimension for the layout, so I water distressed the paper edges, and also added lace and burlap to it. To give it a 3-D look, I used pop-up foam dots for the photo, hand-cut pieces, and flowers, and did lots of layering of the embellishments.

Here are some close-ups.

Thanks so much for dropping by, and do hop on over to the MCS blog for more inspiration, and a look at the awesome prize this month!

And I also just want to wish all the wonderful dads out there a very happy Father's Day!
