A Christmas Tradition
Here's one for the season! I used Basic Grey's Wassail collection for this layout. The photo is from Christmas 2001, and I had been wanting to scrap it for the longest time. It was taken during our annual Christmas party where my kids and all their cousins and close friends would always gather on the staircase of our house for a group photo. It's a great way to keep track of how much the kids have grown year on year! This was also my younger DD's very first Christmas - she was just under a year old then, and that's her at the bottom left of the photo.
I did lots of layering for the flowers and other embellishments. The "presents" were actually cut out from Basic Grey's Merry Happy paper, stickled for some glitter, and then popped up on 3D foam dots for dimension. I also stickled all the flowers for some added Christmas "sparkle", and added relevant word stickers and red crystal swirls to complete the layout.
The flower on the bottom right of the layout is actually attached to a hidden journaling tag which can be pulled out from behind the photo.
I'm really pleased with the way this layout turned out, especially after it took me so long to finally scrap it.
